Arborist Report

An arborist report is a technical report on an individual tree or group of trees prepared by a certified arborist regarding the current structural and biological condition of a tree or group of trees at the time of assessment. In the case of development, the report will speak to how the proposed work will impact the tree(s). A report with multiple trees usually contains a tree inventory and a tree protection plan, also known as a tree location plan when not related to construction.

Tree protection plan

A tree protection plan is a scaled construction-style drawing that includes details on protection measures for trees and proposed impacts/injuries to trees, including removals based on the provided construction drawings. These are typically part of an arborist report that is related to construction.

Tree Risk Assessment (ISA TRAQ report)

TRAQ is an ISA qualification program that trains arborists on using the methodologies outlined in the ISA Best Management Practices for Tree Risk Assessment. This qualification promotes people's and property's safety by providing a standardized and systematic process for assessing tree risk.

Root Encroachment Monitoring and Supervision Report

A Root Encroachment pruning report is a technical report documenting the excavation process and the size of the roots the tree lost due to the excavation. It is usually a follow-up, often requested by a municipality to assess the potential impact on tree(s). This report includes the following.

  • An expert Certified Arborist present on the site to direct, monitor, and supervise the work occurring within the TPZ area(s) of concern per the recommendations presented within your Arborist Report and Tree Protection Plan.
  • Treatment of Rooting discovered, including coordination and implementation of any mitigation techniques to be undertaken in the area
  • Full Assessment of any rooting discovered and impacted through the area.
  • Preservation of Rooting able to be preserved through the area(s) of encroachment
  • A comprehensive write-up of the roots discovered impacted and an assessment of the actual root mass impact. Our review includes expert analysis of the impact on your tree as well!

Tree Replacement Plans

Some Cities/Towns require a tree replacement plan for trees removed as part of their compensation for the removal. With your permit application, this plan is a scaled construction-style drawing that includes details such as tree location, tree size at the time of planting, and tree size at maturity.
